Episode 084: The US Bungling of the Coronavirus Outbreak with Dr. Michel Accad
Once again, the only news worth reporting and discussing (especially if you're in health care) is the coronavirus pandemic. Today, I brought back my friend Dr. Michel Accad from the Accad & Koka Report who discusses with me the US response to the viral invasion. Specifically, we look at the factors that prevented a reduction in transmission of the virus throughout the United States like regulations and a generally centralized command and control decision making process.
We also try to predict the long term consequences of this government failure in perhaps easing regulations and changes to licensing or scope of practice restrictions. Finally, the economic impact from shuttering businesses and most of health care might not only financially hurt physicians but potentially alter the way patients consume health care.
